Skincare Ingredient Breakdown: Niacinamide

Niacinamide, or Vitamin B3, is one of the most beneficial and effective ingredients in skincare. Niacinamide has become immensely popular in skincare due to its multiple uses and perks. We're going to break down precisely what Niacinamide is and how we incorporate it into Stripped Beauty products.

Niacinamide is a water-soluble vitamin that minimizes the appearance of pores, evens your skin tone, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, brightens the skin, and repairs the skin barrier. With all these benefits, it's no wonder this ingredient has become more frequent in skincare products recently.

Niacinamide can help keep oil and debris from clogging pores and leaving a rough, bumpy texture on the skin. Clogged pores can be brought on by over-cleaning, excess sebum production, and dead skin cells lingering on the surface of your skin. Niacinamide regulates these factors by normalizing the pore lining.

Niacinamide has also become extremely popular for its hydrating, healing effect on dry skin. This vitamin helps our skin retain moisture and prevents our skin from becoming dehydrated. This is why you'll most often spot this ingredient in facial serums and moisturizing creams. It's also an anti-inflammatory, so discoloration and hyperpigmentation on the skin can also see a significant improvement from Niacinamide.

Vitamin B3 is immensely gentle on the skin, making it ideal for those with sensitive skin. We chose to make this one of the key ingredients in Fountain of Youth, our all-in-one hydrating serum. It also works beautifully and cohesively with other ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, antioxidants, and chemical exfoliants, so you won't have to worry about irritation on the skin.
